To Conclude:
I have thought long and hard about the lists above, and its been an enjoyable nostalgic trip. As a PC games designer, artist and programmer myself I strive to better any of the amazing games I have listed, I bow to you all. I''d also like to note that originality in games really is important, and I''d like to especially draw attention to Nights and Parrappa as 2 special games which most people haven''t played and really should. Also, I have listed many OLD Codemasters games, but few new ones. This is because recently their games are technically very impressive, but take themselves way too seriously. Do yourself a favour and track down copies of their wonderfully humourous and innocently quaint 2d 8&16-bit games, especially Dizzy, Cosmic Spacehead, Micro-Machines, and the incredibly Bizzare ''Rockstar Ate My Hamster''. Please email me back with comments on this list at suumluvsit@hotmail.com , I would love to discuss further :-)

Appologies if this has been long and boring, but if u have percevered and stuck with me, many thanks!

MarcusLM:

yes, I do remember mail order monsters on C64
that was a funny game, unfortunately, some ass put
magnetic stuff next to my 5.25" floppys...
I still have my C64 here, and it still works!!
(well, that''s actually my second (still the "fat" one, though)
, the SID of the first one died...)
When was it built, I think 1983, wow, almost 20 years.

I sometimes feel the need to connect it to my TV and
remember the good old days

If anyone is interested, I know a web page where you can order
a CD full of instructions and tools to grab C64 (1541/71)
disk images off a real 15xx floppy drive, via some self-built
cable/interface, and convert it to the format of some of
those C64 emulators around, and do data transfer C64<-->PC,
connect PC printers to a C64 and whatnot.
I just don''t have the link in mind right now, I could search.
(I think they wanted $5,- or so for the CD. Seems fair.)
I think you can download it, too, but everything
singly...

IMHO, most of the PC-ports of C64 games SUCK.
(colors, sound/music etc)

duh, this ^^^ was me

It is now for sure you can throw away your computer
