This thread is unfortunately a bit dry, it's mostly links and I'm not better at it. So I'm at least adding a thumb nail here. I'd really like to see more of the games here than strewn about somewhere else.

Hey guys.... guess what? I just got the first build of A Death a Dozen ready!

http://www.mediafire.com/download/qt9rka3g9bznalh/ADeathADozen_v0.0.1.zip

The game is working reasonably well now, though I still have to implement a couple of gameplay features and hopefully make the game look less inconsistent. And add way more levels of course. It's only one level right now, so once you get to the hollow tree a second level is not loaded yet. If you keep walking you'll fall of the map.

Also if the game crashes for any reason, a log file is created. So you can send it to me for analysis.

I hope that the others also have a build ready soon, because some of those games look really fun already. happy.png

My journal

Hey guys, the journals and games look great thus far, keep it up!

As for me, I've implemented the complicated mechanics that our required of our gameplay so now it is time to start building levels to finalize. We are still behind but I am confident we will make it up in the end. MusicboxDancer is learning Inkscape at an increadible speed which is great news for us. Soon we will have real tiles in the game but until then, here is a screenshot with placeholder art;

Day 3

Journal entry: http://gamedevis.cool/en/the-week-of-awesome-iii/the-week-of-awesome-iii-death-is-useful-day-3/

I managed to bring the first enemy in the world, implemented collision detection for projectiles, a hit animation for the protagonist and also stamina management for the weapon. Doing the gameplay balancing is harder than I thought... :

Today I call it a short day, a friend came to visit me and give me a Ultra Street Fighter IV rematch after he kicked my ass a week ago ph34r.png .

Reminds me a lot of Ghost and Goblins style game. I like the lighting better on your version though it is a lot easier to see so far. The parallax effect is spot on.

Thank you for the appreciation, I checked out Ghost and Goblins and seems a very interesting game, I don't know how I missed it, I will give it a try after competition end smile.png.
