Added a new way to murder the poor bunny and put up a new journal entry: http://www.gamedev.net/blog/1966/entry-2261350-week-of-awesome-iii-part-2/
For controlling: The bunny can run freely and do a little jump. It's usually with the aid of his former lives he will be able to gather all carrots. @Roger Ebert: There's no deeper meaning to this.
I'm very interested in how your going to tie the theme into your cute little bunny game. I have to agree doing the menu system last minute is a pain and can be very stressful. I remember one competition I did this and it was such a rush that the final game credits only showed the ones who did the least amount of work.
Anyways I'm interested in the development of your project.
Day 2 at an end. Didn't get quite as fas as I had hoped.

Just coming off a large game jam, I just discovered this competition today and am very excited about it! So, getting a bit of a late start, but excited to put something together.
My first association with this theme is that game (what IS the name of it, I can't recall) where you play as a 2d platforming character and, with every death, your dead bodies pile up and you can jump on them to get past spikes, high obstacles, etc.
I'm not super interested in such a straightforward take on the theme as this, so I've got to do some thinking about how to work it into a story of some kind. I've just been working on a 3D game, so I'll likely go 2D for this one to keep those skills in shape.
Good luck to everyone else, and happy devving!

A quick journal entry describing my current position and thoughts:
WoAIII: The Dilemma
The short version: This has proven to be a tricky theme for me to work with! However, I might be on to something--specifically, I find myself now with a choice of two possible games.
MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

No that is not ok, you've elminated the subtext associated with each sponsor. I know the splashscreen is not a work of art, but please use that instead.
What if I add subtext? Please don't say no, I've worked too much on this.
The splashscreen was talked about multiple times on the thread. Many questions were answered about what you could and couldn't do. It was very clearly written that we keep the splashscreen as-is except for re-sizing and trimming blackspace. Doing something against the rules and asking the rules to be changed after the fact would make it unfair to the rest of the contestants who planned with the rules to be followed from the begining.
Also ... Why in the world would you spend time on a part that is not going to be judged? It just seems like poor time management.
