Time

Concepts to include:
o Time Zones (UTC) and local time
o The notion of a "day" is in Albatross reference

Desired Effects:
o The sky changes color as the drones work, or as the Albatross flies
o Night is cold. Characters need to return to the Albatross at night.
o Saving the game is a decisive action that cannot be done too frequently.

Implementation Concepts:
o Let time flow at a fixed rate. Perhaps every 30 seconds is one hour.
o If a character does not return to the Albatross at night, the character turns into an ice cube.
o The game can be saved at night in the local time (local time of where the Mission Log is) and at least 6 hours since the last save.
Getting Cold

[ Cold Puffs (Flash) ]

Story:
It is getting cold, three of the crew members are shivering outside. Let them in the Albatross before it is too late.

Flight Paths

Story components:
o "The Albatross is the main transportation among the regions"
o "The Albatross moves to various regions as needs arise"

Required game mechanics to express the components:
o Flight paths to various regions
o Driving forces of motion

Implementation concepts:
o A blank stage for each region that shows on the world map
o A weather forecast that shows on the world map
o A mechanism to select the path while flying
o A mechanism to represent a westward flight without mirroring the inside of the Albatross
Navigation

[ Geographic Navigation (Flash) ]

o To show weather on the world map, walk to the globe and hold DOWN and hit the corresponding [KEY] to configure
o Aircrafts can reach all locations shown on the map
o When an aircraft enters a location, dialog box tells two location choices
o The [RT] path is always a cyclic path that returns to the current location
o The exception is ocean-crossing routes, where the destination of a [RT] path is always the other side of the ocean.
o The [UP] path leaves the cyclic path.
o An aircraft takes the [UP] path by flying out of the screen at the upper right corner.
Collapsible Buildings

Story:
Most buildings are damaged by the mini ice age, the Albatross crew repairs the ones that could be saved and clear those that can't.

Interactive Components:
o Buildings with HP

Initial Implementation:
o Damaged buildings would deteriorate and collapse
o It turns into a pile of debris when it collapses
o Collapsing building KOs characters
o Debris can be collected

Extra: Forest Seed

2) Precipitation
3) Ice Storm
4) Grid

Dice Roll: 4: Grid

The role of the grid in the story
The crew reconnects the power grid to gather energy to open
the Bogota gate. The energy is generated as electricity, but
stored as hydrogen gas at Bogota.

The task of the crew is to locate the decentralized energy
generation units, connect them to their regional grid, then
connect the regional grid to supply power for Northern Andes
region.

Key Entities
o Harvester Structures
o Connection switch of local grid
o Connection switch between two grids

Random Feature

1) Atiel
2) Precipitation
3) Ice Storm
4) Albatross Colliding with buildings
5) Repairable robots
6) Swimming

Roll: 6: Swimming

Significance in the story
Many things are underwater. This includes stuff that fell into the water,
cities that are submerged, and flooded subways and tunnels.

Initial mechanics
o Romaina can swim
o All other characters would sink, get KO, then float

Choices:
1) Atiel
2) Precipitation
3) Ice Storm
4) Albatross Colliding with buildings
5) Repairable robots
6) Character Modes

Roll: 3 - Ice Storm

Ice Storm

Story Role:
o Originate from the regions away from the equator
o Move from one region to the next
o Hurt characters, aircrafts, and buildings.

o Use the world map to see the weathers of different region to plan a path back to Colombia
o Explore flight paths as the Albatross flies into each location

o Lisbon > Azores > North America
o Abidjan > Atlantic > South America
o Taipei > Manila > Pacific > South America

Choices:
1) Atiel
2) Precipitation
