No elements yet though. :(

At least now we have a new place to obsessively refresh waiting for the "?" to go away. Maybe they'll reveal one per day? *grin*

It says this on the first page:

Bah, completely missed that. Such teeny tiny font. Besides, I clicked the big link instead. :P Sadly, that means I won't finish my CuteGod project in time, but excited to see this about to be announced.

In case anyone has missed it, here's a link to that darned Rick Rolled thingie.
I had hoped we might have a higher spec category this time around... what is the judging Mac anyway - a 3 year old iBook G4 has a Radeon 9500, so this is older? And I think the 9200 is without pixel shaders, no?

Must be some judges out there with slightly better Macs...

It's an original Mac Mini, and it does support GL_ARB_vertex_shader and GL_ARB_fragment_shader. If I can find some judges out there with better Macs then we'll look at it, but I'm hearing that 10.3.9 is a reasonable min spec OS to require, and so I'm guessing that the hardware runs not too far from it.

10.3.9 tends to be on all pre-intel Macs, but it makes a really lousy minimum - considering that it cannot be installed on an Intel Mac, and 10.4 is nearly as common on PowerPC Macs.

As for the Mac mini, it was 2 generations behind the current Macs when it was released, and has never caught up - the latest ones use an Intel 950, so they basically don't run games. I don't feel it is really sensible to force games to run on a Mac that Apple explicitly stated was "not for gaming".

Edit: My G4 iBook from my last post, both pre-dates and is considerably better performing than any of the Mac minis - even the brand new Intel varieties.
