New: Poster your Art Here!
too funny
I am not text, I am not organized pixels, I am not killed by turning off your monitor, I am not isolated by turning off your computer. I just am.
Just curious but Fantasy Edge do you take a computer art class, or are you self taught?

well, if i had taken computer art classes, i would be a lot more predatory about jobs. I also wouldnt doubt my abilities as harshly as i do. everything i do is from self teaching(playing). thus, my knollege base is sort of small. I really need more experience but with no money to my name, come to think of it, nothing at all. that is hard.
I guess thats why i get overwhelmed with the feeling of inadequacy when viewing all of you people''s art.

I was sick of my old signature so I made this one.
Cool, so you say your self taught Fantasy Edge; I looked at your webpage yesterday at school and that's the reason why I asked you if you took a computer art class. Your pictures are great, better than some of mine's but i've only been in computer art for 4 months. I like you first picture with the metalic textrue on the space ship it's great. I don't know how to make a model nor an animation yet, one reason is that we haven't gotten Lightwave at school yet, so what 2 models that i have made were crap because i made them at home by myself, but for that 4 months I was learning Photoshop 5.5. It's a great program, highly over priced though. Maybe next year I'll be able to show the world my crapy art on the web.

I can't take credit for the model- it's a Poser figure. The basic figure and dress come with the package. But the pose, the textures (including transparencies), the background, etc are all mine. Oh, and I did the hat and the shoulder puffs too (trivial).
I must say I love Poser - it's great for humanish figures right out of the box, and it's easy to use for us non-artist types.
The models have an obscene polycount that makes the useless for realtime 3D, but great for sprites. I think you're looking at a 2 minute render.
Textures are 512 x 512 except for the skin, which is something like 1024 x 1024 and is large enought for the whole figure, even though you don't see much of it (yep - she's nude under all them clothes).
I've got a few other character experiments at my webpage if you want to look at some similar doodling.
Here's the face. It's sloppy (forgot the eyebrows) but it works ok on a sprite-sized fig.

Fantasy how did you do that lens flare in Bryce? It seems like it''s in motion so I''m guessing you didn''t just add it from Photoshop. Sorry if it''s a stupid question and there''s some obvious effect, but I don''t have Bryce on my computer at the moment.
I wouldn''t laugh at your 3D models Fantasy Edge, there actually quite good(are those first attempts?).And those real time models from JSwing, wow very nice.I wish i knew how to use computer 3D,but sadly i don''t have the money to get such programs to play around with that sort of thing.Does anyone here know of any decent programs that i could download off the net?,(preferably not one of those test it in XX amount of days before you buy deals)
