Wow... alot has changed since my last post.

Ok since my question is obviously not gonna be answered, Im gonna address this AP.

Dude, your cramping my style...

I mean, you do have some half-way decent points here and there, but alot of them are dumb to say the least.

On another note:

Whats with everyone saying that they play violent games to "escape reality" yet they like for the game to be as realistic as possible?

Is that not the dumbest thing youve ever read?

Well thats all for now... theres too much ignorance in this topic for me to address all of it, so I guess I''ll just shut my mouth (or... uhh stop my hands.. from typing? or whatever)

Okay, yeah, my bad. I shoulda said "life", not reality. Sometimes it''s nice just to forget about your homework and school crap and all that other stuff. So you play a game and not worry about it. That''s what I meant, not reality! haha!

And I''m glad you''re back, because that AP is pissin me off.

And i Thought many of my concepts were media suicide but is a first prize winne rin that catergory. People will buy it but Im not sure that to many publisher would publish it because of bad PR in future teen related massacres. In my opinion its an easy way of doing games popular by filling them with violence, GTA is one thing but your idea is something else.

Just mail me at

I need to rent Hitman, if it is similar to my idea. Can anyone tell me what Hitman or Hitman 2 are like?

DON''T COPY THAT FLOPPY!

Isn''t the real problem with this idea that it wouldn''t really be about serial killers. You''d have your ''enemies'', which would be the cops in this case. You''d sneak by them, or shoot it out with them, and also get your points from the number of murders you commit. But, in essence, it wouldn''t be about serial killers.

What makes a serial killer is his past, how he was abused as a child, was rejected by his peers at school, shunned by girls, grew up to be a looser and so on. Now in games what gets you points is what you do in the future, as the game progresses. You couldn''t have a game where you get points for the number of times you wet the bed or the number of times your drunk father beats you up.

Do you guys think people would buy a game where you play as a serial killer, and have to evade the authorities? You could get points for each house you sneak into, and kill off the family members while they sleep. Or you could pose as a hitch-hiker, and kill off the generous people who pick you up. In evading the police, you could hide out in the woods and focus on survival.

Call me sadistic, but I would buy it...if it were done right.

Hey just come on out to North Carolina and do it for aliving. Works for some =o)

Dude, you can get Hitman for computer for like 10 bucks at Wal-Mart. I hear Hitman''s a lil better than Hitman 2, but I could be wrong.

First let me say I do not play any video games, and I am not a serial killer. I don't even spank my kids, and probably many on here could use more sunlight..
I do however have an idea for a game like this, complete with scenarios, ways to collect points, etc.
I don't want to give up ideas here. but i would like to find somebody bona-fide to can actually bring this to fruition.
Let's bring violent gaming to the logical conclusion.
The pure misery and violence will absolutely promote itself.
It would either make us rich at least short term, could create a sequal-series.
or could wake people up that it is nice to civilly interact with real humans more often.
any outcome would be cool here.
I supply the ideas and promotion, you turn it into a game
the ultimate in catharsis
i hate humanity, and pray for a better humanity
cynical to the core
feel free to flame away as you wish
but i bet someone out there could help do this
and many more would indeed buy it

I only read the first two pages of responses, so i'm sorry if i missed anything. but here's my two cents.

this game would not work. at all. it would be one of the most spectacular failures anyway.

first off, say some game design company took your idea (being ten, naive, and not particularly qualified, they wouldn't). say they actually made it. there is no way in HELL it would be rated anything but AO. just the base idea will get you the rating, not including the additional tags of strong gore, violence, torture, and horror that this game would have.
but the main thing that matters is the fact that it would be AO. adult only games are not carried by 90% of the retailers in the united states, and upwards of 98% of the retailers in the world. In addition to that, AO games can have no advertising.
So no one will see the game or here about the game, as best-buy, gamestop, wal-mart, costco, and virtually every other big name wouldn't carry it.
no fame= no money= no chance.

second, assuming this game got published, you would still lose the lawsuit.
Sure, sure, freedom of speech. Only problem is, that wouldn't protect you.
There is a thing in the first amendment that states that freedom of speech can be denied in the case of "clear and present danger." teaching people how to effectively become serial killers directly violates the clear and present danger clause, which, in turn, gives the government the ability to censor you and your game. a good lawyer could make sure that this game never saw the light of day.

third (just for shits and giggles) say it wasn't censored by the feds, was rated M...
This game would get blacklisted by virtually every religious organization in the WORLD. laugh all you want, but religion has huge influence, and could probably greatly impede your sales. America was founded by god-fearing people, and it still shows today. Beyond california, this game probably couldn't even make it to the stores.

fourth. i'm bi-polar. i have had psychotic episodes, and what you have described for your "psycho" has nothing to do with it. "psychos" are largely driven by fear, not revenge. Get your main character right, and the game has a slim chance of failing spectacularly, getting censored, becoming media-scapegoat, and going broke. get him wrong, and the game will never have the slimmest chance in the 9th layer of hell of ever touching a game designers hands.

This idea is bunk. I love violent video games, in fact, i am designing one right now (that will never see the light of day). However, I cannot see this game making it. Your main character sounds like a fearful loser, which is not what most people like to play as.

If you make a plot out of this game idea of yours, make sure to post it.
Cheers.
Didn't have enough effort to go through and read the posts but has anybody figured out yet that this would not be a serial killer game? Serial killers have specific targets, motives and methods that set them apart from other killers. They are also, generally, extremely intelligent.

Has anybody thought that this pointless slaughter would mortify even a serial killer?
