Two words:
Killer Instinct.
This so-called fighting game was Nintendo''s attempt at a Mortal Kombat clone... Too bad they spent 99% of thier effort on the then-spiffy CG graphics and 1% on the actual gameplay... And as if that wasn''t bad enough, they then went omn to butcher the graphics (the game''s one decent area) in pretty much every console translation of it... I was not amused by the sprites-pasted-on-3D look of the N64 version, to say the least...
Moreover, the incredibly steep learning curve and standard bad fighter substitution of speed for gameplay made this one a bitch to get into in the first place... If it weren''t for Nintendo''s incredible propaganda machine, you never would have heard of this one after the first game hit the arcades.

Worst games of the 20th century
Hey, I''ve got another one! What''s small, furry, cute, reproduces at age 1 hour, and can''t learn the meaning of one word in the English language? No, it''s not your newborn baby brother.
CREATURES!
God, what the hell was with this game? They start out by giving you an egg, and they expect you to find the incubator like *snap* that! Then this furball comes out going GEE GOO, GAH! Say what? Then when I tried to teach it to say carrot I was successful, but it was over-rided with "ball." Come on, how we gonna teach these things to live if we can''t even teach them to speak? And while we''re on the subject, HOW DO THEY ALREADY KNOW HOW TO WALK?! I didn''t learn to walk until I was like 2 1/2! Then I make a female and I fill it with it''s reproducing stuff, but the things don''t breed? First off, how would they know if they liked eachother? And secondly, why was Mindscape thinking turning a K-A rated game into a scene from aJames Bond film? Please people. Take my advice: DO. NOT. BUY. THIS. GAME!
Top quality games don''t kick ass as well as these.

Hard to pick a least favorite. Also, what do you consider to be rules in choosing a least favorite? IE: People who hate FPS would obviously choose something that FPS fans might think is wrong. Also, is a least favorite game a game that doesn''t work, or just one you don''t like?
Here is a list of games I didn''t like:
Computer games:
Doom-Quake 3 and most of their clones. (Of course, not being a big 3D fan, that should explain why).
Ultima 4 - Although 9 was bad imho, I just couldn''t stand this one game. The rest were good or ok.
King''s Quest 7 and King''s Quest: Mask of Eternity - death and destruction to graphic adventure games by cartoons, and Mask was death and destruction to graphic adventure games by trying to add action (which if you have ever read earlier interviews with the author, she states that she originally wanted to create a game where there was always an alternative to killing. If you play Mask, you will see that the comment isn''t true anymore).
Myst - compare this game to doom or quake if you want to prove that they have prize winning storylines. Compare Myst to any other game in the world if you want to prove that the other game is action packed.
Daggerfall - Biggest game world I have ever seen. Of course, it all looked the same, and included such favorite quests as (forgive the exaggeration):
"Please Sir, I seem to have lost my ring at the bottom of the ruins of a abandoned farm house, and monsters have suddenly taken up residence in it. Please find it."
First off, I never knew farmhouses, even abandoned ones, could be over 25 km^3. Second, why in the world would a person be that stupid to go all the way to the bottom of such a thing with a ring? Third, why not just buy a new ring? Would probably be just as cheap as the reward. Fourth, if it is worth that much, why trust a complete stranger? Would you honestly think that I would return that Ring of the Gods with +25 to all stats, and protection against all elements to you? Think again! Throw in the few thousand bugs that Daggerfall seemed to have and you have my vote for worst PC game ever.
Console games:
Mario 64, Zelda 64, Quest 64. (Just add a 64 to the end of the title, and probably I think it''s a boring, stupid, OVERRATED game).
Final Fantasy Mystic Quest - Square thought Americans couldn''t handle their *tough* RPG''s, so they gave us this.
Secret of Evermore - another example of Square thinking they knew what Americans wanted.
Super Mario Quest
Mortal Kombat 3+
ET - the only game everyone can seem to agree with.
Plenty of other games are bad, and probably worse than most, if not all the ones I mentioned, but I''m trying to surpress the memories.

My good games:
Starcraft/Broodwar - Just plain fun, liked the story too
Half-Life - PLOT!!!
Doom 2 - never beat it without cheats...
Lemmings - Great puzzles
The Incredible Machine - just lots of brain benders
Shit games:
Outpost 2 - first 3 levels have NO weapons ?!?!
Deathtrap Dungeon - Makes Tomb Raider look intellectual
Kiddie games thaat blew (I have a young daughter)
Lego Island - interface sucks for kids

But folks whinned and I had to change it.

I don''t know, Nytegard. Mario 64 was sort of revolutionary (and pretty fun). So was Mario Kart 64. Though the others you mentioned (especially Quest64) did suck. Also, Myst is another example of a game that was so revolutionary at the time you have to give it some credit. I''m an adventure game nut, but even I have long since grown weary of the "slide-show" format (Riven was a HUGE disappointment).
In my opinion, a revolutionary game is exempt from "Worst Game Ever" lists, just because they inspired many future games, some of which are great.

Well, I agree with you to some extent, and disagree. Yes, I believe revolutionary games should be exempt from the worst game list ever, but imo, the games I mentioned, and even the ones you mentioned, were not revolutionary, rather evolutionary.
Before Myst, there was The 7'th Guest, which I think was well done at the time (although I won't say that about it's sequel). Games like Quake and Doom evolved from Wolfenstien 3D. Before Mario Kart 64, there was Mario Kart, and before Mario 64, Zelda 64, etc, there were very similar Playstation, Jaguar, Saturn, and PC games (sorry if I forgot anyone else's favorite system). All of the games I mentioned evolved from something else, and I just didn't find them as fun as the original imo. Of course, probably games I find revolutionary someone else could find them as having evolved, but that's the beauty of opinions. Everyone can have their own.

Good points. Maybe you''re right
P.S. Are you SURE 7th Guest came out before Myst?!

Worst game...ugh, lemme see...
Myst.
I never finished it.
I found it difficult to solve, terrible interface, a plot more suited for a book than a game. however, the only really reedeeming feature is the sound- that was cool. Still, i think its lousy.
Janes USAF is several years behind the times in models.
Most of the effects were sprites/decals, and badly done ones, at that.
Army men`s interface is bad, too..
Best game is:
X-wing series, warcraft 2, and perhaps Simcity 3000.
XW* because the engines are always nice, framerate usually is high, AI is fairly easy, missions are usually the right balance of complexity/simplicity, and yes, the chance to fly a SW fighter.
Warcraft 2 becuase of the editablility, plot, graphics, gamneplay, and coolness.
SimCity 3000 because it''s great graphics, and highy complex gameplay.
