Ugh - it always sickens me to see one game developer, on a game developer board, go out and take shots at "The worst game of all time". Alot of effort went into some of the titles you guys name and it''s pretty harsh to take it out on an industry that''s still experimenting and still doesn''t understand the ground that it stands on. You should all hang your heads in shame! A fair criticism of a game is good, but calling a game the worst of all time is unforgiveable! Go home!
Okay, first a quick correction to SonicSilcion: I HAVE beaten E.T. on the 2600. No, it wasn''t fun. No, I''m not bragging. I just want you to know that it does have an end, if you want to call it that. E.T.''s spaceship comes to fly him away. Pretty intense, eh?
Anyway, a note for you Quake knockers: I was a massively huge fan of Quake. The shadow mapping and ambient sounds were completely awesome. True, the single player game was pretty crappy, but multiplayer was the freakin'' bomb. I loved the scripting language. Every good game needs that kind of extensibility.
On the other hand, neither Quake2 nor Q3A did anything for me. Both of them were disappointingly bland. Give me UT, or give me death!
Now, it looks like I need to school Maitrek in what is truly the worst game ever made: VIRUS for the PC (1997, Telstar/Sirtech). I wanted to commit ritual suicide after I paid $45 for that piece of shit. I don''t even want to explain it, it sucks so bad. You''d have to see for yourself, but I implore that you don''t. The people who made that game should be killed.
The second worst game on my list is Final Fantasy VIII. The cinema was a testimony to Squaresoft, but my GOD the gameplay just completely sucked ass! It was worse than FF7, another game of which I was not fond. Square lost their touch after the first half of FF6.
I can''t wait for the FF movie in summer 2001.
What do I think is the best game ever? Well, that''s a toss up between Tempest 2000 (for shear replay value), Unreal Tournament (just can''t get enough), and Chrono Trigger (an oldie, but IMHO it''s the best RPG ever made).
GDNet+. It's only $5 a month. You know you want it.
I thought Quake 2 was a bitchin game...not as good as some of the new fps, though. Tomb Raider (the whole series), on the other hand, sucked!!! I''d even call it one of the worst games last century...that WitchHaven 2, and Heretic...
-----------------------------1. "Diplomacy is the art of saying 'Nice doggie!'... till you can find a rock." 2. "Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else." 3. "If we don't succeed, we run the risk of failure."-Dan Quayle4. If life gives you sour grapes, squash them and make wine!
Oh man, if you want an awful game try Superman for the N64... you think Superman does cool things? No, he just flies through floating rings in a fog-filled city!!
Oh man...
The control is awful, if you think it''s EASY for Superman to fly this game will certainly re-educate you. I dont think I got to the third little sub-mission, the premise of the game (and everything else about it) is horrendous!!
I would have to say Star Wars: Rebellion. It was actually pretty fun, and not that bad, but compared to any other star wars game, it was crap. It was just such a let down. The same goes for force commander( except force commander wasn''t even fun).
If all these errors are so fatal, why am I still alive?

Pong is the Worst Game. Two Options, the normal Back and Forth, or you can buy a plastic thing to put over your TV that looks like a tennis arena. Fun.
