NeoAxis Game Engine 2021.2 Released

NeoAxis company releases a new version of NeoAxis Engine, an integrated development environment with built-in 3D/2D game engine. The environment can be used to develop all kinds of 3D and 2D projects such as computer games, visual trainers, VR systems, to visualize processes and develop windowed applications.

Overview

NeoAxis 2021.2 includes a new product Modified Editor Toolkit, it is a new SDK for creating projects by means of changing the NeoAxis editor. The engine got improvements in animations, characters, character AI, third person camera, curves, visual programming. Have been added cutscenes support, 3D text component, a new default character 3D model.

Modified Editor Toolkit

A new product Modified Editor Toolkit has appeared. This is a new SDK for creating projects by means of changing the NeoAxis editor.

The architecture of the engine and its editor are an extensible system. The editor can be expanded with additional functionality. Other sub-editors can be added to it, and current ones can be changed. Extra functionality can be disabled. As a result, the being developed specialized product can essentially be a modification of the NeoAxis editor. This provides many advantages over development from scratch.

New default character and improved character AI

Thanks to Mixamo for providing a set of free animated characters! The character AI has been improved, added new tasks, demo scenes.

Character skeleton control

Added code to control the skeleton of the character. You can control hands, head. The code is open source, you can add your own behavior.

Text in 3D component

A scene object displaying 3D text in the scene.

Third person camera

Third person camera has been improved.

Cutscenes and flow graph improvements

Added the ability to create cutscenes. Now, during the execution of the flow graph, you can suspent the execution using the Sleep block.

Curve in space

Bezier Path type has been added to the curves. Now you can configure anchors, orientations of the points.
