I'm going to agree with a couple of people and recommend Babylon 5. You mentioned that you found it hard to get into and thats not surprising, the first season was a bit hit and miss but if you skip it or watch it out of order you miss tons of important stuff. Seasons 2, 3 and 4 are amazing and season 5 had some great parts as well as some not so great, blame the network for that.

I'm a little surprised that no one has mentioned Arrested Development yet. Its a US comedy that ran for 3 seasons. Its very off beat but if it clicks with you its hilarious.

I didn't say it was hard to get into, I said it was hard to get back into. I watched it when it was on tv, and remember liking it but I think today's standard of special effects has ruined my ability to watch old movies/show.

I'm not mean, I just like to get to the point.

Be it House then.

Not that good ones:

Fringe
The Event

NCIS or NCIS LA work well too
The Jace Hall Show!

I did start watching that show Psych, and yeah it is pretty funny, but extremely sitcomy, in the sense it's a different story everytime, and aslong as you watched the first episode you can jump in at anytime. Since they're really doesn't seem to be any ongoing story.

Yeah, Psych is pretty much the definition of "a good show to waste my time" :) There are a few recurring characters and ongoing stories, but for the most part it's "silly murder concept->45 minutes of random 80s references->case solved".

Good times.

Psych is an amazing show. Love it to death =D

Another good USA show is White Collar

Leverage is pretty good too in the same vane as the above.

Leverage is TNT only I think. But yeah, it is a good show and I think it comes back with new episodes sometime soon.

I can't believe anyone recommends NCIS, the 2nd-rate CSI clone for people who find 2 official spin-offs including the spoof that is Miami, are not enough. And you're saying they even did an NCIS spin-off? Americans will genuinely watch anything, it seems.
Another one I liked a lot during the first season was "Dirty Sexy Money". I lost track of it and never heard of it again. It had a great cast, and even while the plot seemed a bit vanal, it was a really enjoyable show to watch.
[size="2"]I like the Walrus best.
