I need a good show to waste my time

I can't believe anyone recommends NCIS, the 2nd-rate CSI clone for people who find 2 official spin-offs including the spoof that is Miami, are not enough. And you're saying they even did an NCIS spin-off? Americans will genuinely watch anything, it seems.

NCIS is actually a spin-off of JAG, a long-running Naval courtroom drama - though like any police procedural it shares certain common elements with shows like CSI. I personally always found the cast of NCIS far more likeable than any of the CSI casts (though CSI NY runs a close second, I guess). The characters all have a lot more personality than CSI allows, and the regular multi-episode story arcs allow a lot more character development than CSI's single-episode cases.

If you want a lighter-hearted police procedural, I think The Glade does a pretty good job of balancing humour and depth. All of the past season appear to be available on Hulu as well...

Might get stoned for this, but when i need to unwind my brain I love watching Man vs Wild. It's somewhat scripted which has left it susceptible to flak from certain circles, which perplexes me as it seems these people treat it as a serious survival guide and deny its entertainment qualities.

Might be the Metal Gear Solid fan in me which this show appeals to so much. Watching Bear carve up a jungle really gives me a Big Boss Metal Gear Solid 3 kinda vibe!

plus that redhead...;)

If you are going to watch a show purely for Christina Hendricks, then watch Mad Men instead. You get drinking, smoking, sex and beautiful 60's clothing/architecture/etc.

definitely a good show, and some what funny look into the past.

Also 'Psych' Definitely not the type of show I would've thought I would like, but I can't stop watching and laughing at it. Also started watching the first episode of "Game of Thrones" and it looks awesome, definitely my type of show, love the politics of it. Just afraid that it's a brand new show and I'll run out of episodes pretty fast.

Yeah it's a good show, I like survivor man and the new one dual survivor (I think that's the name), but I rarely ever turn my tv on, atleast I rarely ever make use of the cable.

I'm not mean, I just like to get to the point.
DS9 is a good show, but the first season doesn't really do the show credit. The show doesn't get really good until the third season. That's not to say that the first two seasons are bad, it's just that they don't really tak full advantage of a long story arch.

The Pacific is also pretty good, by the same people who did Band of Brothers.

No one expects the Spanish Inquisition!

I'll admit DS9 was a decent show, My younger brother was a huge fan of it, so I definitely watched quite alot of it... but I was also a fan of next generation when I was younger.
