I'm kind of surprised not to see 24 mentioned here. The first season was incredible, the second pretty good, I gave up about 4 episodes into the third season.
I hope it never gets mentioned again. The only thing I've ever like about 24, and it had nothing to do with the show, but watching that guy attack a christmas tree was hilarious.

I must be on the wrong forum. A board full of geeks and no-one mentions firefly?
He said
not corny. I don't care whether you think Firefly is good or not (I for one think it's utter crap, and I can't understand why anyone aside from a 13 year old girl would like it or Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but that's just me), but you have to admit it's corny.

Actually I don't have to admit any such thing. I really enjoyed it, and I thought was a pretty reasonable bit of speculative fiction. The dialog was pretty typical whedon, but there were some really interesting characters (the priest for instance).

I mean corny as in trying way to hard to be funny, especialy when serious style shows try to be funny... try watching "life on mars" great concept, semi decent show, but they constantly try to make fun of the fact that we do things differently now then we used to in the 70's. It starts to get corny.
I'll probably watch firefly one of these days, I've always heard great things about it from people that like the same things I do... plus that redhead...
, same thing with farscape, I've tried watching that and it does come off as a decent show I get uninterested in it half way through and episode, but the end always makes me want to start the next one.
