Celemony Melodyne: Direct Note Access - Awesome new tool!
Probably some of you have seen it on some audio forums around, but if not, check out:

Awesome new tool for pitch correction. I think this is a great step forward in audio technology.

Oh yeah, I was super impressed by this tool! I'm still trying to figure out how they manage to craft a plugin that will isolate a middle pitch, allow you to edit it while keeping all of the surrounding audio untouched. Brain is already hurting from just contemplating it! :)
Better believe I'll be purchasing this plugin come August!

Yes it is unbelievable what they have achieved. Causing indeed severe migraines due to wondering how the heck they did this haha. I am also for sure going out to buy this plugin :)

I'm not that much into that plugin (besides Voicess of Passion, I don't use phrazed loops), but the technology is indeed amazing. I would understand moving the sound in pitch, but not in time.
I guess, how it works is searching for a base-sound in the whole sample, like one note with all specific to it's character frequencies, and then taking that little block as a base for analyzing the whole audio material. Remember, that, every sound in these sequences has it's own frequencies - some are common for more instruments in the material (like on video from Musikmesse), but that's not impossible to do. If you know that you have more kind of base blocks in the material (like two different instruments), you can copy these frequencies, transposing them up or down, leaving original block type 2 untouched.
Hope it's clear ;)
Anyway, I'm more into ProjectSAM stuff, though I wished it was a full orchestral library.

I don't use much looping content either, but I see this plug-in as a potential tool for some cool sound design applications. This is why I'm really interested. It could be worth it...it could not. Worth a look at though.

Best reply I saw on this tool was (I believe it was on the soundsonline forum)
"Finally I can put all my Britney Spears songs into minor"
Would be a great tool for sound design, but I think I really look forward to correct some live recordings. It makes editing live recordings a lot easier (I hope) and would save definately some money on doing a lot of new takes for studio recordings as well.

I personally feel that someone needs to put this to great use :) Don't get me wrong, the Liquid series were ok, but the interface could be tedious at times.
I wonder if it can pick out all of the pitches of an orchestral recording hehe :)

Whahahahahahaha! I'd also love to hear a diminished version of "Oops I did it again". Wicked ò_ó!
I wonder if a tool like this is really needed though. Yes, for certain tasks like tuning a guitar or fixing some errors it would come in handy, but isn't it our task in the first place to compose good and (if this is of course what you want) correct music? Fixing it after you finished your job sounds bit like, I don't know, cheating to me.
Considering Live Recordings, this is of course a wonderful tool.

What do I expect? A young man's quest to defeat an evil sorceror while discovering the truth of his origins. A plucky youngster attended by her brutish guardian. A powerful artifact which has been broken into a small number of artifactlets distributed around the world. What do I want? Fewer damn cliches. - Sneftel
