Isometric map done without diamond tiles?
HI
Is there a way to do a Isometric like map (pseudo) that has the looks of a isometric map but is not a real one (ie you walk it as a top down map) using JUST rectangular tiles?
i have seen games that look Isometric (aka Starcraft) but maps are made from simple rectangular 32x32 tiles or 128x64 macro tiles made of smaller 4x2 smaller tiles...
Is this possible? How does it work?
Actually i know it is possible because i use it in my RTS game ..but it just involves a lot of twakening and work...i am really wondering what is the theory behind that...:D and if it can be done easyer....
