High Resolution Timing

This is sort of a survey of what elements you think a good high resolution timer should have. I plan on writing a tutorial once I collect enough data.

welllllll.... it should be a timer and have high resolution.

You don''t get much choice in what timers are available to you. There''s only so many favors available from the hardware, and only so many favors given to you by the OS.

Something to 1ms accuracy is good enough for me (which rules out clock()).

QueryPerformanceFrequency and QueryPerformanceCounter are relavent functions - but I don''t think they exactly need a tutorial.
