@baddogj: Keep working on that. Of course you're not Michelangelo, but I'm sure you like drawing enough to practice hard and to be very good at it some day. If you're planning to devote your life to it, you could consider taking classes, to learn some theory which is never un-useful.
EDIT: Is it okay to say "un-useful" ? Is it understandable at least? :)

if anyone has comments, or suggestions please post them.
...Unless they're critical of your work. PLEASE ONLY POST PRAISE.
Sorry kiddo, but your stuff sucks alot. I was drawing like that when I was bored in Jr Highschool, too.
The thing that makes your stuff ESPECIALLY sucky is the fact that you're trying to show it off as if its some great art, and then bouncing back relying on the excuse of "Oh, I did it because I want advise". Bullshit. Anyone could see you were trying to show off.
In anycase, like everyone else said, get a pencil, some paper, and dedicate yourself to drawing. Try not to trace. I dont know if its the scan job, or the fact that its notches better than the rest of your stuff, but I get a severe feeling that the DBZ drawing was traced. It just LOOKS traced. Dont worry, we've all done it, tho. Just dont show it off as if its your own work.
So practice, practice, practice, and then in a few years, start flaunting your 'portfolio' again.
*gets ready for negative ratingws because people are too pussy to hear the truth about matters*
im not trying to show my work off as great because i know that it sucks. thats why i am trying to get help to make my drawings better. i want to get better at drawing and know what i need to work on. Also, none of my pictures are traced. I wouldn't lie about it and if my picture was traced, i would admit it. but they aren't.
thanks for all of your comments.
[EDIT] also, my dbz picture looks a lot better than the others because i put a lot more time into it.

These are going in my ultimate post scrapbook (ratings ++). I agree his art sucks, it's a waste of bandwidth, I'm glad it's not mine.
Man, he's only a kid, give him a break.
OK alright, he's a kid ... BUT, this is a game devlopment forum. He said in the first post he might want to use the picture in a game. That picture is just rotten.
I don't know why you are here, but I'm not here to tell every tom, dick, and harry that they can do it, that your little train can make it over the hill, because you think you can. Encouragement is something you give for motivation, and plain and simple this kid needs more than encouragement, he needs art lessons or discouragement to go into another field.
Sounds mean doesn't it ?
Look, my daughter is nine years old. I wouldn't tell her that her art sucks. But this kids not my daughter, and this forum isn't for nine year olds (is it ?). Get a grip, his art really does stink.
*EDIT*
Check out this linke here, where someone is looking for creative criticism, which is what I gave without a problem.

I don't have a problem giving creative criticism, but this thread is just silly.

Right, you have a point.

People HAVE been giving you advise. Ive read a few posts talking about how you need to get some books and work on proportions and such. Also alot of people been saying the most basic thing you need to do: Practice.
To me, it just seems like you're fishing for compliments on how great your eye drawings look.
Why dont you make a whole face using those eyes, and THEN sk for advise on face structure. OR, go do what people reccomended and get a few books on technique and practice alot.

yay a sketch thread!
something i did a year ago
this looks good. One thing I would reccomend to you is to try to redraw this using sort of a 3/4 side view. So he isnt looking directly at the 'camera'. It'll help alot in getting the 3rd demension down. The drawing has alot of good detial, but looks flat.
Tho, you said this was a year ago, so you probably already have alot of those fundamentals down. I'd be interested in seeing something you've worked on since.

Actually it was probably like two years ago come to think of it. Haven't done much real drawing since then (they were concepts for some game I was designing). I agree about the flatness of the image, it is also very static (he's just kinda standing there). I wouldn't have minding pursuing my drawing further but the lure of the Code kinda distracted me for the past few years...
Haha, Yeah I know what you mean. I drew alot for a while, and just as i was getting really really good, I started into computers. Since then, I think Ive drawn two things.
I liked how you're able to tell whats wrong in your own art. That really helps in getting better in a shorter period of time.
You might want to try getting one of those poser dolls that sits on your desktop, and try drawing the doll itself. if you dedicate yourself to doing that for a while, even tho itll look like crap at first, youll get pretty good at drawing in 3D the more you try.
Thats if you get bored of computers for a short while.
