That's funny. I've been looking for that book since I found out about it at the WordWare exhibit at GDC 2001. I had pretty well given up on ever seeing it. I don't normally read threads on this board since I generally have no clue what anyone is talking about. I thought maybe if I actively follow the forum I might get a clue. So, perhaps you didn't just sell a book but also got another contributor for the forum for those easier questions once I get a clue.

hehe , I'm sure my book will help you understand.

That wasn't my book you saw at the GDC 2001 though. I only decided to write "Programming Game AI by Example" late 2002.

Is this geared towards beginners? Because I'm stupid when it comes to AI, I know absolutely nothing;):)

It's aimed mainly at beginners to intermediate, although most will find it an interesting read. Check out the testimonials given in the link and any reviews that have appeared on Amazon or here at GameDev to see if it's the right book for you.

It arrived today. A quick skim-read and it looks pretty good: a lot more dense than "AI Techniques..." and I just love UML diagrams ;)

Just wondering if fup modelled for the wireframe bloke on the front cover...
