My new book hits the shelves at last...
I'm annoyed... I went into Borders today and they had no record of your book, nor did they show an interest in stocking it. Looks like a trip to Amazon is needed.
Looks good fup. I enjoyed "AI Techniques for Game Programming" and just sneaked the new book onto the missus' latest Amazon shopping spree ;) Good luck with it!

I've never found a game programming book in a shop. I always buy from amazon. I might have to go and check Borders out. Looks like an interesting book, I'll probably buy it.
I also have it ordered on Amazon but it reckons I have to wait a week to get it (lousy amazon). I tried the demos and looked through some of your source code which is downloadable through the publishers web site.
I can't wait - I love AI [smile] and a "By example" book is just what I want to read!

Hmm looks like a buyer based on that web article (see, demo's *do* work ;))
What 'level' is the steering chapter aimed at? Is it mainly 'character' level or can it be applied ok to e.g. vehicles?

the steering behaviors described in my book use the "canonical" velocity aligned model that Reynolds' used in his paper. So you can, with small changes here and there, apply them to characters, cars and trains but if you are want to apply SBs to something like a spaceship the algorithms will have to be modified.
