Triangles and FPS
I''m writing a 2d game engine using D3D. The sole reason I''m using D3D is colored lighting.. Otherwise I''d ditch the whole 3d stuff..
I''m using DrawPrimitives with a triangle pair to draw all the tials. At my latest test I had about 3000 triangles being drawn with alphatesting enabled. I get about 50-60fps... Kinda less than I expected...
I was wondering if this was normal, or is it my inexpierience with D3D and thus lack of optimizations thats bringing the framerate down..
If anyone can make any suggestions for speed improvements I''d be apreciative..
This fps test was done with release build. (fullscreen and windowed showd about the same framerate, if not windowed doing better...)

The information you gave to us are not enough to say if your framerate is ok. What resolution are you running at? What hardware to you use?
