I''ve been outta the picture for a while, classes this semester have been rough! Doing a lot of work with compositing and graphic design (bleh - print!).

But, I did take the time yesterday to make this. Its basic form was robbed from the Mausoleum of Sta. Costanza in Rome. (Medieval Architecture Rocks!). I took the basic double shelled central plan etc etc, and gave it a pseudo futuristic / fantasy look. No hard work on this one, just a quick 2 hour diddy in my free time

interesting one kandolo, somehow it doesn´t feel quite right... i think that you need to give it some more horizontal space, right now it feels a little claustrophobic. or add figures to show the size.

Hmmm... Claustrophobic feel is good. Besides, the main point on the image is the light coming through the clerestory - so I altered the lense to a wider angle to slightly distort the room so that the collonnade arches upwards into it.

Figures? I see how that would help, but personal preference, nah.

As far as the horizontalness... I could''ve added an entablature or something, and i agree, it would make it more grounded, but I really wanted an upward soaring image.

But thanks for the critique I''m not too worried, as it only took maybe an hour or two to make while I was bored at work. Just an image made for fun.

Oi...
Here's a couple of my first attempts at using Painter (Painter Classic, just what came with my tablet). I've found it pretty intuitive and relatively easy to apply traditional techniques to the program.

And here's a sketch I did this afternoon, linear for an illustration I'm working on.

Any input would be appreciated!

nvision - very not bad at all... and it doesn´t have that typical painter look.

HAse : is it me or are you inspired by gecko''s technique ? (well, I say gecko ''cause he kind of really impressed me when I saw his stuff first, but I guess it''s just "working with values" as one would say).
In any case it''s really cool work, very moody, very appropriate to the subject matter IMO.

Hase: Love those drawings you''re doing, they give the sense of seeing an old historical war picture. Great stuff. So you mentioned Painter, I''m guessing you''re using that and a Wacom (got to get one). Btw where can I find those retail?

Herr-o: Very nice, what do you use? Reminds me of Lara Flynn Boyle or Liv Tyler.
herr_o, who''s the girl in the last picture I think I''ve fallen in love with her

All this is amazing... I didn''t know this was possible...
