It's about 2:45 AM. Just got awakened by the phone ringing and someone knocking on the door at about 1:30 AM. Turned out to be the power company tech. I'd made a call, but I wasn't expecting him in the middle of the night. But it's cool; I wasn't sleeping anyway. Not really; more like tossing and turning. It's bloody hot in this house.

Good news is, though, that the problem with the power is not in the house. They've got a bad leg running to the house from the junction box. The guy ran a temporary above-ground line from the box to the meter and posted a security guard in the alley to watch it until they can come next week and start digging holes. The good news?

I have A/C again!
