Not on a plane
I went and looked at the comments for my dodecahellspawn GDS entry. There were some pretty nice comments made since the last time I checked. Nice enough that it overcomes my demoralization at having lost the latest back ups. Thanks guys.

So I just copied over the old repository and I might work on t…

This is sad
I just noticed that even though I haven't posted a journal entry in nearly two months, I still have one of the journals with the most views. This tells me one of two things: either I'm insanely popular, or not enough people are reading journal entries now that the novelty has worn off. I'm inclined…

Out of it
Man, it's been *way* too long since I've used Python. Would you believe that I had to look up how to concatnate strings? I burn with shame.

In other news, I can't seem to find the pen drive that I backed up the the subversion repositories for Dodecahellspawn and the code library project, so I might …

Not much to say
Current status on the whole personal project thing: pretty much no progress since my last post. Isn't that depressing?

I have a convention this weekend, so I'm probably not going to start anything major until next week. Might be a good time to see if I can get Pygame to install now.

Hmmm
I'm having one of those days where if I posted what I was actually thinking on a public forum, I'd probably either get sued, arrested or sent to a funny farm. Possibly all of them. Let's just say help desk where I work doesn't actually seem to exist to help.

Therefore, instead I will make a perfectl…

Friendly word of advice
If you're single and use a baby name book to create names for characters, make sure any company that comes over realizes that you're involved in a creative field, or you hide the darn book. Otherwise you risk some really strange gossip going around. Just take my word for it.

Ba da da da da dum
One issue with any form of entertainment is engaging the reader/viewer/player. In writers workshops it's a common complaint that work isn't engaging due to any number of causes, like poor prose, internal inconsistency, emotional circuit breakers, and so on. In many respects, games have it worse bec…

Rant mode on
According to most sources, with all else equal, programming languages that use dynamic typing instead of static typing should be more productive. Not that all else ever is equal, but that's the theory. I've seen statistics advanced by fairly intelligent people to back it up, and for the most part I…
