I want to let allegro get me into a SVGA mode [640x480x(15/16)bit], and to play soundFX when I ask, but nothing more. I will create my own 3D library, and other graphics functions. any suggestions, URLS, tutorials, advice on having it do just that? thanx> -Jeremiah

my suggestion is to go look at the examples that come with the library. Alternately, you could go to http://www.talula.demon.co.uk/allegro/ and look under the documentation section. It has soem really good tutorials there (try Allegro Vivace).

If you know directx, Allegro should be a breeze.
