Add Single Player to a Multi-player Game?
I was wondering what the rest of you guys think about adding a single player feature to a game that''s main deal is multi-player. I was wondering because I''m designing a game that... well... it''s not copyright yet so I won''t tell. And, yes, this is answerable without the plot and gameplay info. What do you think about FF11?
COOLNESS!

As soon as you write something down, the word-for-word version of what you''ve written is copyright. However, copyright doesn''t cover ideas, so no matter what you do, people can still copy you. If you make a complete game and someone comes along and steals your ideas, there''s not much you can do (unless they use names, graphics, etc, from your game). Just letting you know.
As for your actual question, it really does depend on the game. There''s no point in a single-player version of an MMO game, and a single player version of a puzzle game might be too difficult to implement (since you''ve got to do some AI and stuff which might get tough, depending on the game of course).
But if single-player fit in with the game, and it''s not going to put your schedule back 6 months, then why not?
