MD2 modeler
I am looking for a good md2 model editor, and maybe a place for some tutorials.
For the modeler you can try Milkshape3D. There''s a time trial version and if you want to buy it it''s only 30$ (if I remember correctly). It handles a LOT of file formats (including newer MD3 and I guess soon Doom 3 format) and is quite easy to use. There''s also the classics like 3DSMAX and MAYA but I don''t recommend them since they''re very expensive.
Gametutorials.com have good tutorials on loading/animating models. They''re in the opengl section, page 3.

Hi there!
I have a very good freeware MD2 modeller that unfortunately is no longer available on the Internet. If you are interested, feel free to e-mail me at gameover@vtr.net.
Good luck!

You need the Tempest plugin for 3DSMAX to be able to export your models to MD2/3. Otherwise you can also use milkshape as a converter if I remember correctly.

Personally I've had absolutely no luck with Milkshape. I get it installed, try to run the program, and it crashes. I was told about a patch program that was supposed to fix this. I tried that, and the patch program crashed!
(Edit: Well, never mind my post. I decided to give it one more shot, so after some searching I found the download again and it worked no problem. Now we'll have some fun)

lol
Had no prob with Milkshape. Ran it under WinMe, which isn''t reputed for its stability, and it worked just fine. Btw I only used it as a converter cause I also have 3DSMAX...
