I completely agree with your points Kressliac and crouilla, except the part about them being flaws in the concept itself. Ease of use and the fun factor can only be flaws in the actual implementation of any concept (unless the concept has fully detailed the implementation too) I do also agree that with a concept so in-depth and complex, keeping it easy and fun will be a very difficult task, though. Difficult, but not impossible. Nothing is impossible. Sometimes it may be impractical (beyond the capabilities of today''s current hardware as an example, but I don''t think that''s true in this case), and sometimes it may be improbable should the difficulty be sufficiently high enough (potentially a factor in this case) Of course, a key requirement for any great game these days is that it be easy to play and fun (of course fun, that''s the whole point of the games in the first place)
And actually, Felisandra, Revenant and Everquest were two games that this idea is somewhat loosely based on. Not as much action/arcade element as Revenant and a lot more depth and interaction then Everquest. I haven''t played any of the other games mentioned in this thread though Bushido Blade sounds familiar (and rather dated)
