I have a few storyline for possible future games that I could make. Please give me your opinions on what you think and which one you liked the most. Here they are: Caliber: You are a member of a government team that cleans up biological accidents. You are called on another cleanup job. You suspect that it will just be another oil slick or chemical spill, but when they start passing out the equipment you begin to wonder. What kind of a cleanup job uses flame throwers and det-charges? You arrive at the site in the team semi-trailer. The back doors open and just as you get out, everything goes black. You wake up lying near the open doors of the trailer. You call for help on the CB radio, but to no avail. That is when reality hits. Your team is gone. It is up to you to make things right. With the much needed equipment you have, you set out to make things right, and fix the mess in the process. The Hobbit: (his would be based on the story of the hobbit, by JRR Tolken). You are a small fury creature that lives in a hole in the ground. You see a wizard walking down the road, and you get in a discussion with him. He tells you the tales of dragons and lost gold. With a party of dwarves, you set out in serch of the lonely mountain. What does the future hold? So what do you think of these storylines for a game? If you have any good ideas for a storyline in a game, please tell me! - Moe -
I like the first one, it reminds me of metal gear.

So you think the first one would be kind of cool in a FPS (first perosn shooter)?
the second ones much better i love the hobbit and id love to see a game based on it.

Be careful. LoTR is heavily copyrighted.

the hobbit's cool.. i remember playing a game based on it (oddly enough entitled the hobbit) back in third grade on an apple.. a friend of mine has it on commodore.. of course, as felisandria said, you have to be careful..
what type of game would it be? an RPG, or maybe adventure?

both ideas are really cool, though if you do the first one FPS style, it would have to be really well done to seperate it from the other multitudes of FPSs..

along the lines of The Hobbit, a few years back there was a tilebased game called Lord of The Rings released, and some company(one of the biggies but the name escapes me) was working on an mmrpg based in Middle Earth but the project was cancelled unfortunately, and it was looking like an amazing game
Yes, i am aware of the copyrights. maybe i could change the names and characters around enough that there would be no problem. i just thought it would be neat to make a game set in that time span (medievil). i personally like the first one, althought there seems to be enought people that like the second one.

the first time i saw diablo, i thought it was awsome. At the time i was using visual basic, so i tried to make a real cheap knockoff call 'knightmares'. i never finished it (then again, all i had was some neat icon buttons to click and make the character move around on the screen). I never got much further than that because i found VB wasnt flexible enough for me (i had like version 1.0 or something that old).

i would put a picture of the main character here, but i dont know how (same with using hyperlinks on gamedev.net)

for the hobbit idea, how about a rpg adventure cross? you could play the role of more than one character but you have to go around exploring the territory to find what you are looking for (i am thinking a little like FF8)
