My scenes look fine in 3d studio Max R3, they look fine in 3d Explorer when exported as a .3ds but once I convert them with the conv3ds.exe convertor that micro$oft provides with the DirectX SDK 3 objects loose their bitmap coordinates. I have done a text dump of what happens during conversion and the bitmap coordinates and the associated bitmaps are not listed. These are the paramaters specified by my programmers: conv3ds.exe -m -N xfile.3ds. I''d like to hear from other developers that have run into this and find out how they worked around it. Any information that I recieve would be greatly appreciated. Coose
Sounds familiar, I was using 3DSMAX R3, and conv3ds would mess it up, so I found a export Plugin that actualy worked, and works well, its at www.max3d.com, in the plugins,import/export section, later,

I''ve had a similar problem with conv3ds too. I don''t have a modeling program installed, but I downloaded a model of gordon freeman done in 3d studio and I can''t get conv3ds to create an Xfile that is viewable.. I''m new to this so I don''t really know all of the specifics. I''ve tried using everything but was wondering if anyone else has had the same problem or is there a "recommended" modeling program to use for make Xfiles...
