It would mean the world to me if someone was able to identify the software being used in this tutorial. if i was able to find out what he is using i could follow the tutorial much better.. thanks for any replies, it would mean the world to me to figure this out. . i hope someone can guess it  

Adobe Photoshop, I'm not sure about the exact version used in the video  but for you getting the newest one should be a safe choice.

Edit: and of course Unity and Map Magic, but it should be obvious from the video title...
