I get a constant 99fps on a cel400, 128mb, and a cl tnt running Win98SE.

Test my iso engine?
28 FPS on my machine - but that''s auite okay for this old PPro 200 with a MIRO VIDEO 22SD (2MB)
Well, with Vsync ON, I am getting about 118-120fps (monitor refresh is 120 for that display mode)..with vsync OFF, I am getting anywhere from 180-250fps.... with vsunc on though, you can barely make out the guy running around (I guess from the high refresh?)..anyhow, system specs:
K6-2 450
Voodoo3 3500
96 megs Ram
K6-2 450
Voodoo3 3500
96 megs Ram
it ran about 41fps on my celeron 466, 128mb ram, 8mb ati rage IIc video card.
Is it just me or are the people with tnt2 cards getting higher framerates?

238fps w/ vsync off
good enough, but for displaying just a screen of tiles you can optimize it to get up to around 1200fps on my system. 1 of the 2 engines i''m working on now is 2d and is much more complex than this and i get about between 200fps to 1200fps depending on scene complexity and the number of effects on at a time. i''ve done just about every optimization i can think of though.
as a side note... my 2nd engine which is 3d runs at 56fps with all effects. thats only at 640x480 though... my frame rate goes to shit as i raise resolution.. around 34fps at 1024x768 and 13fps at 1600x1200. thats quite a difference. looks like i must be using mostly fillrate rather than high poly rate.
both engines will be used in upcoming games.

I get a range from 72-74FPS. When it was scrolling, for some instances it paused for some microseconds.
(PIII500, Voodoo3 3000, Win 2000 Pro. DX7a)
ps: nice job. However.... there''s still much missing... you''ll propably need to make geometry maps for some tiles, to handle 3D unit managment over slopes (ps: Alpha Centaury)
Keep up

I get 145fps on my celeron 433 oc''d to 488Mhz with 128MB Ram and a geforce ddr. I''d say your engine is refresh rate limited on my machine as my refresh rate is 150Hz in your demo. That could be the reason why the guys with p3s and athlons have such a low score because their refresh rate is set at 60 or 80Hz.

You do know that your refresh rate limits your fps, right? If you have your refresh rate set insanely high, the fps could, theoretically be just as high as the monitor refresh rate.
