Great Monsters Of Our Times
The facehugger was nasty. I couldn''t TOUCH the game for a couple days after the first one that jumped on me. I kinda got freaked from the Master in Fallout 1, with the three voices - especially the "Join...DIE! Join...DIE!" line. All that goop along the corridor, knowing that the Master had powers that would even kick my Level 35 Hardened Power Armor with Turbo Plasma Rifle arse up and down the world...
Sqeek.

i loved all the monsters in doom, the cyberdemon make me wanna turn and run, but the one that tops em all is the fiend in quake.
i still remember that first time i stepped on that one switch, two blocks pop out and go into the wall, a door opens, and one jumps out and tears you to bits
i think they had to pry me outta the computer chair after that one
I actually wet myself at that bit (the first time anyway). Up until that point, I was having no problems with Quake, and I just wasn''t expecting that damned feind.
After careful deliberation, I have come to the conclusion that Nazrix is not cool. I am sorry for any inconvienience my previous mistake may have caused. We now return you to the original programming
A lot of good monsters have been mentions, some of my favorite include of course the CyberDemon (and most of the other DOOM monsters) and the Arch Vile (DOOM II, could bring other monsters back to life, even the cyberdemon, and thanks to him, you could jump!). Kefka from FFIII made me pretty mad, lots of the Half-Life monsters were pretty memorable, like the Big Momma head crab. But the two that have made me want to kill them more than any others are Sephiroth from FFVII (I HATE that guy), and G-Man from Half-Life , I made a level in WorldCraft and imported his model just to kill him .

The facehuggers from AvP really scares me... Heck, i almost fell of the chair the first time i encountered one of them.
The vorpal bunnies from Quest for Glory IV.
Okay, so there really wasn''t any overly emotional reaction, but the fact the bunnies were evil, flesh eating, yet cute made them memorable.

Anyone here played Ultima7: Serpent Isle?
Half-way through that game, your best friends Iolo, Dupre and Shamino, who you''ve known for so long, turn into the incarnations of evil, and go around killing, raping and destroying everything. That was shocking. Eventually you had to track them down to this old abandoned castle, and trap their souls into these crystals.
I loved the enemies in Thief aswell, and it wasn''t just the zombies that made me crap myself, but the Hammer Haunts, especially when you sneak up nearby and hear them say, "join us, JOIN US NOW".
You need good sound effects to make an enemy much more imposing or frightening since if I play with the sound off, I don''t feel any fear or tension...
