"The Lord's Resistance Army (LRA), also known as the Lord's Resistance Movement, is a rebel group and heterodox Christian cult which operates in northern Uganda," ... But clearly they don't count as a christian group?

No, because they aren't actually following Christian principles. If you read their beliefs (Covering themselves in oil to protect against bullets thanks to god), they claim that they speak to god through posession through Kony, and he divines what they should take as their course of action. That's not covered at all in the bible.

Compared to Islamic extremist groups which actually do follow a strict interpretation of the Koran.

Also, Heterodox:

"any opinions or doctrines at variance with an official or orthodox position". Under this definition, heterodoxy is similar to unorthodoxy, while the adjective "heterodox" could be applied to a dissident.

It's also worth noting that Christians who do these killings enjoy virtually no support from the local populations, unlike Muslim attackers who can have double digit support in the region.

It's also worth noting that double-digit support for terrorists are in large part because they don't want reprisals against them or their family. Especially if the government is backing said terrorists for the sake of border/societal stability or because they are treating the terrorists like a black ops unit. It's less often because people truly believe in murdering people because they are slighted.

Frankly, their motivations as to why they support terrorist groups don't matter to me in the slightest.

Doesn't fit this siutation. In this case we have a group clearly not even pretending to adhere to the bible, going so far as to include voodoo rituals to ward off bullets, and opening themselves up to possession.

Person A: "No Christian performs voodoo rituals to ward off bullets."

Person B: "But my uncle Kony performs voodoo rituals to ward of bullets."

Person A: "Ah yes, but no true Christian performs voodoo rituals on himself."

The difference is in the concrete evidence. Voodoo rituals/possession is something inherently un-Christian. Therefore groups that practice it aren't Christian.

If I was trying to claim that the LRA weren't truly Christian because they conscripted child soldiers, you'd have a point, because Christians can certainly do that (But maybe not any TRUE Christians).

He has a point though. If Kony said he was doing this in support of the New Zealand constitution, does that give everyone carte blanche to shit on New Zealand?

Not really, because there's no rational connection between the LRA's ideology and New Zealand. This isn't a "No True Scotsman" situation anymore than some dude living in Zanzibar born in the Solomon Islands to Chinese parents that likes to wear jeans and play the didgeridoo calls himself Scottish.

How exactly are Voodoo elements of believe inherently not christian in nature?

Going back and studying early Christian history might be a good idea. One important point when looking at a religion like Christianity is that the modern bible is what most Christians use as a basis, but it is not actually the only basis of Christianity. There were huge debates about what writings and stories were 'actually' part of 'the one true faith'.

Many 'Christian' elements of faith and tradition pre-date Christianity, and I have a hard time accepting that European centric traditions and believes are the 'true' Christianity, while African influenced beliefs magically get excluded.

Where does it end? Ban Muslims because Islam is a religion of hate. Kick illegal immigrants out because they don't have a piece of paper that says they are American citizens. America is built on Christian values? Where? In church I was taught worship only God, respect all people (the old love your neighbor as yourself), be humble, be honest, live a moral life, be generous with time and money (donate time and money to help those in need), practice what you preach (don't be a hypocrite), don't be self-righteous, don't hold a grudge, and forgive others. These were repeated almost daily when I was younger. So how does banning Muslims fit into those values?

Its called separation of church and state. Kicking illegal immigrants out because they don't have the legal right to be in the US is the written rule. Let it be known that civil rights are supposed to be reserved for American citizens PER LAW, not illegal immigrants. Yours arguments purpose thus far have only been to incite more argument, you are not debating anything. You are simply arguing to argue without a point.

I'm just stating my views, seems everyone else is getting angry over them because of their views are in opposition with mine. Without point? Thought my point was rather obvious, both scenarios are utter bs.

When double digits of Christians support (or don't disavow) Breivik you'll have a point.

Islam isn't the problem, I agree, but the people who adhere to orthodox (Wahhabi Sunni) Islamic principles are.

I was expecting a more credible source (as this is righfully decimated in comments) when making all this double digit claims, not to mention the fact that double digits vary from 10 to 99.
