I don't use any antivirus for years (first thing I do is disabling Windows Defender when installing OS) but when I install an antivirus for someone, I prefer Avast free version only with file scanner module , rest is useless imo. ( doesn't worth waste of system resources )

( shud have known this... even feeling yet more stupid now, how bad can it get for me?)

Don't feel too bad - I had to look up how to do it before posting, because apparently they've changed it yet again for Win10. I spent ten minutes or more looking in all the wrong places. laugh.png

Microsoft Windows: Providing multiple ways to do things, but none of them the ways you expect.

The thing I find infuriating is that in places there are now two sets of settings - the old pre-Win 10 control panel dialog, and the newer Win 10 settings dialog. Most things are in both, but there are enough things that are only in one or the other that you have to open up both...

Personally, I just use Scanner2 (http://www.steffengerlach.de/freeware/) to find big chunks of wasted space. Usually it is some game or an ISO that I downloaded from MSDN and haven't used in months or years that gets the axe. If you do .NET programming, and have turned on the Fusion assembly resolution logging, that can suck up an impressive amount of disk space. Also Windows Error Reporting crash dumps - Outlook and Lync have been so damnably buggy since the last update that I probably have to clean those out again.
