Introduce yourself

I'm not actually new to these forums, but it has been a few years since I've been active, so I'll reintroduce myself.

My name is James Simpson and I've been developing games for around 12 years. I'm currently the founder of an independent studio based out of Oklahoma City, called GoldFire Studios. We are focussed on developing HTML5 MMORPG's for the browser. We successfully funded our latest game, CasinoRPG, on Kickstarter earlier this year, and launched it into open beta in September.

FWIW: I am living in Tulsa, OK, which is sort of nearby.

Oh cool, good to see another Oklahoman around here! Have you heard about the game dev meetup we started (http://okgd.org)? If you are ever down in OKC you should definitely swing by a meeting.

sadly, I don't drive (*) and rarely leave the house...

so, while it would be cool to meet people and/or talk about stuff IRL, I currently have no way to get there.

I am sort of hoping to be able to find a job, but no one around here seems interested in hiring (tried applying with several local companies, not gotten any responses), and I have yet to make any money from my own game project, so alas...

basic skillset:

Languages = C, C++, x86 and x86-64 ASM, ...

OS = Windows and Linux

Framework = OpenGL + Win32 or POSIX APIs

Development Areas = 3D Engine development, Compiler / VM development, Audio / Video processing and Codecs, ...

Misc Areas = Audio Synthesis (MIDI, Text-To-Speech), once wrote an OS kernel (got as far as Networking and GUI), wrote Windows codec drivers, ...

but, yeah, nothing really that anyone would want to pay money for me to do it seems.

*: no one takes me driving, so I can't get the experience required to go get drivers license (legally, can't drive by myself).
