Hi, I'm Thygrrr!

Yeah... I've been lurking for "a while".

About 9 years ago I proudly posted somewhere in the lounge that I am now finally a part of the industry (graduating from hobbyist).

I've always had a knack for leading teams both technically and creatively, and thus held the position of CTO at a major german independent studio for almost 4 years now and I'm still going strong. I regularly check GD.net, especially since the recent influx of fresh, premium quality articles. I'm glad it's not exclusive content (that's such an outdated concept...), but nonetheless I read most of it on GD.net first. Old habits never die.

While it's fun to see the same questions be asked and aswered in pretty much any game dev forum all these years, I have to say these are interesting times, with the massive creativity explosion and technology advances across the board.

So, hello world.

yeah...

Sorry but I just have to let you know that the way you type has made me think you're that boss from Office Space: tongue.png

Good movie, that. If you haven't seen it yet I highly recommend watching it.

not been compared with that character before, but have been compared with lots of other characters by people:

Shaggy from the Scooby Doo shows;

both Twilight Sparkle and Spike from MLP: FiM;

more obscure characters, like Boyacky / Boyakki from Yatterman;

...

so, I guess "somewhere in that general area".

my general self-perception would have placed me closer to Zim, but others disagree (although, Invader Zim does sometimes seem a fair bit like my general perception of the world in general).

Yeah, if we could take Lumbergh over PHB anytime, that'd be great.

Hello, I'm ilreh.

I make games in my free time (C++, OpenGL). Although I have a bit of an artistic talent I find creating graphics and audio-assets the most tedious part of it. It's fun to start out and give your ideas shape but animating every single 2d frame of every character takes forever.

After jumping in and out of game-making throughout the years I want to get serious now and deliver something that's actually fun.

Have a good one.

I'm not actually new to these forums, but it has been a few years since I've been active, so I'll reintroduce myself.

My name is James Simpson and I've been developing games for around 12 years. I'm currently the founder of an independent studio based out of Oklahoma City, called GoldFire Studios. We are focussed on developing HTML5 MMORPG's for the browser. We successfully funded our latest game, CasinoRPG, on Kickstarter earlier this year, and launched it into open beta in September.

Hi, i,m still busy with DX9 in C++ ( Visual Studio 2005 professional ).

I am looking for a old version of 3D Studio Max, willing to trade for electronic music ( not pc music ) in your project.

greetings

I guess I've also never formally introduced myself on this board. Atleast not in a long time. My name is Dominque Douglas. I'm currently live in a small town called Anseong in South Korea. It's about an hour south of Seoul, the capital. I've been living here for the past 6 years. I like it. I met my wife here.

I got interested in computer back when I was in elementary school, but I got get at it when I was in high school. This is a screen shot from the project I made when I was in high school.

For the most part, I've work continually with one other developer whose an artist / 3D modeller. We had one big project called Genesis SEED that we've worked on over the years, but we've since abandoned it because of it's scale. (Click to see the old Genesis SEED Trailer)

Now we're working on a new game called Auxnet. I'm hoping to go alpha with it within the next few months. We also want to package it so we can give it a public release.

So much to do, so little time. (Click to see AuxNet Intro Video)

If you're curious about some of my really old stuff, I've posted some screen shots on my Google+ page. You can check this post.

I've been on this site for many years. I even participated in the first Four Elements Contest. Unfortunately I was still new coder and my entry had a major bug. To get it to work, you need to click the Refresh Modes button on the startup dialog. After that, choose a valid mode. Most will be garbage.

Learn all about my current projects and watch some of the game development videos that I've made.

I'm yet another one who has never formally said "hello" .

1: I do not program for a living, but would like to.

2: I am self taught and can write basic functional programs in 12 languages, however I do not specialize in any one language.

3: Strongest language skills I have are in Java ( I consider myself a novice )

4: I like building MineCraft Computer parts.

5: I have no life.

I cannot remember the books I've read any more than the meals I have eaten; even so, they have made me.

~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

4: I like building MineCraft Computer parts.

Dude.

We need to build a computer together in MineCraft.

I've attempted it before, but there were some inherent flaws I made in the architectural design, and haven't attempted it since. I'm an electronic engineering technician professionally, and have some pretty in-depth knowledge of microcontroller architecture. If you're interested, PM me.

We can both have no life together.

FWIW: I am living in Tulsa, OK, which is sort of nearby.
