Need some help with pixel art
I am new here, so I don't know if this is in the right section. I am trying to make a pixel art cube man animation, but I am failing badly. The animation has 8 frames, 4 facing right and 4 facing left. The animation looks horrible when I run it, and I need some help with it. I have tried looking at tutorials and they have helped with drawing images, but I need help with making the images into an animation. If somebody could make the attached file better, I will really appreciate it. If not, can someone give me a few ideas on how to do it? Thanks in advance
The first thing I think you need to work on is timing. The default speed of animation is 24 frames per second, at which your cube guy will cycle through 3 times per second.
You can drop down the rate to make it cycle slower, but it won't be as smooth.
What you have here are basically key frames - the starting and ending points of your animation. You need more tweening, or frames that fill the gaps between the key frames, that will smooth the animation.

Maybe you can change these cube men's gestures, fitting them to the timing rules of animation, than it will look better.
Just as Hamsta said above,"What you have here are basically key frames - the starting and ending points of your animation."

I don't really know what you mean by gestures. But I took Hamsta's idea further and made it 48 frames instead of 10
It looks A TON better. The only thing I see wrong with it is the image gets cut off 1 pixel when I animate it. Other than that, I like it WAY better. Thanks guys!
