Hi there A friend recommended me to the forum to get some idea about writing music for games. Here's my latest tune http://soundcloud.com/jono-bell/minute-rough-mix Does anyone think that this would be suitable for games? Hints and tips would be amazing. Hi there and welcome.

I could imagine this track to be used for some kind of scifi racing game.

Music in games today seems to focus more and more on interactivity.
Basically you split your track up into seperate parts that fit to specific
scenarios like an atmospheric part where the player just roams through the environment, exploring the level. An action part when encountering a fight, etc.
Then the game engine can loop the parts and switch/crossfade between them based
on the current state of the game.

Great music! Reminds me of a sci-fi or streets of rage type of game. Keep it up!

Hey man, great track. I liked all the tracks on your soundcloud. I would suggest you try to get them up on iTunes and Beatport. I would DJ your them at a club for sure.

Like others have said, linear music like this can be used for racing or sport games.

You might want to create a demo reel of a bunch of samples of the best sounding bits (developers listening to your reel are too busy or have short attention spans to listen to a song build up) and do some networking with developers working on or who work with racing & sport games.
