Quote "game development forum"
You mean, 'the longue' (as in, the bar).
Don't be fooled with my 'Fable Fox' registration date. Previously I was known as Maniac Wolf. And I'm old enough with this as a hobby that I remember saving tutorials as .htm from Game Programming MegaSite, Game Programming 99, etc.
Let just say this is the only forum I've been around for a while. Despite not much post. This is the forum you know about game programming and real life (robotics, politics, science, religion, geek jokes, experiments, etc, etc, etc).
I don't ask for professional opinion, I already have an outlet for that (and tomorrow that 'outlet' will get to see my research).
I just want to know if any of you willing to do so as a son / daugther or as parents. I also want to know your viewpoint. Of course, from the articles people around them would support them. But what if your view, if let say, Alice Jones is the programmer you work with day in and day out (Alice Jones is a successful programmer). What is your view when she said she want to have a mother, despite at the age of 36.
That's it.
adult adoption
I think that at the age of 30 people is more likely up for reproduction than for getting parental care. It's a natural thing. Turn on Discovery Channel and see it for yourself.
From what I know, it will be more likely that you get a swinger-couple as adoptive parents or a couple that lock people in their basement to eat them later.
You may get lucky and actually find people that is not mentally ill, but that won't be the same as being a child and having parents taking care of you while your mind is forming.
For bad or good, your mind is already formed. What parents are meant for is no longer useful to you.
You obviously have some sort of trauma with this whole "having parents" thing and you should try to get over it, to "grow up", more than staying until late hours of night feeding this idea that really has no feet or head.
If you are doing this just because you don't have anything better to do with your life, then, my advice is: Go ahead and have fun!

YES. If they treat me the way I want to be treated.
You have no idea how much sacrifices I did for my real parents, but I'm not in the mood to wash dirty linen in public.

Actually, it was more complex than that.
Please note that HUGI 32 was published, like, two or three years ago.
Like my article, the 2004 Indian Sea Tsunami caused me to get this 'aha' thing - what is the most important thing in life. Anyway, have you seen A.I?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A.I._Artificial_Intelligence
I was raised to be a robot - in short - and that is all I can said without washing the linen. Depression cause me to unable to taste life (back in university, I can actually eat the same food for one year straight - eg: ordering the same dinner for a year.
Actually, I need parents that teachs me about being human, about life, about happiness (so that I can enjoy happiness, fell it, experience it).
I'm tired of parents that keep asking "earn me money!" and leave nothing in return.
My future foster mother is my 'blue fairy'. she will make me human. only then I can fall in love and get married.

I'd like to say that you have got some serious problems (i.e nuts). Asking us for opinions won't do you any good as you'd only favor those who support your motives to become adopted.
I don't think there is anybody capable of giving parental love to an adult who's not their biological child. Your adopted parents must have some hidden motives, financially or legally, to be able to accept an adult as their child.
What happened to your biological parents? Why do you think you need this so much?

Oh my god. This is messed up. No, no, you don't need some fake parents. You need drinking buddies, and some hookers, and get laid. At least, just pretend that you don't have this problem, and have some social life, okay?
you're missing the point. I'm not asking the 'parent' to treat me like i'm 5 year old. I want the parent to treat me the way your parents treat you as of now. You know, someone you can talk to, cry on the shoulder with, share some problem, talk about life, etc, etc. A person that be with you despite what happening between you and your wife. what happened to your job. etc etc.
I don't have childhood memories, or teenage years (as a clue, just google 3rd world country child labour). Or the growing - up - path. I need a parent to keep the cycle complete. Just like Alice Jones ( you really need to watch the video )
http://photoblog.statesman.com/adopted-at-age-36 <-- seriously watch this, the video
There is something missing in my life, in my heart. I want to complete it. I guess this is what people refer to as 'zen' (I think). If I explain it, you won't understand, if you can understand, no need for explanation in the first place. That is zen' or at least some Japanese word I learn from "Zen for Dummies". Can't remember, really.
What going to cook your noodle is who this mom dad is - although if any of you have read HUGI, might know a clue.
Boy, with all those Adult Adoption Law, I thought you Americans (I hope I don't shot-gun all of you here, but like original topic, I'm talking about American / US Adult Adoption Law) consider this as usual act of life.

So you want someone to call you up, complain about how you never call them, bitch about the rest of your relatives and pester you to start having kids?
