I'm looking for a terrain editor that allows the user to make caves and tunnels
First of let me apologize if this is not the right place or even the right forums for this question. But I was just wondering if anyone has come across any terrain editors, that run on Windows, which allow the user to click (for example) a Tunnel tool and dig out a tunnel in their terrain, or a (again for example) Cave tool to carve out a cave. Perhaps (even more for examples) even a stalagmite/stalactite tool to use in the caves. Be even better if:
A. This came as part of the toolset in a GCS or a 3D Game Engine with an excellent editor.
or
B. Was a stand alone terrain tool that could export into formats Blender, UnrealED (for Unreal Tournament 3), and 3DS Max could import.
Been thinking about dabbling around in Terragen again, and got to wondering what's out there now. Been a few years since I searched for stuff like this.
Oh, and while I appreciate coding encouragement, I'm not a programmer. I can design an interface for something like this, albeit a simple and ugly one (not much of an artist either), but I'm good at figuring out how the user should interact with a program. So I can't code this, wish I could, but I can't. If you are coding something like this then you have my full support and any help I can offer, which sadly isn't much more than file storage place, or the aforementioned services.
Basically I was just wondering if a program existed that could do this, on Windows XP of course...

Most terrain editors are for editing terrain with the output being a heightmap. A single heightmap just does not have the data required to produce any details but elevation, meaning no caves or ceilings.
If you want such a terrain editing system yourself you or someone else will more than likely need to program a custom system into your engine that allows the use of multiple heightmaps to produce extra dimensional detail. Or use a modeling app to produce those extra landscape features you want.

Considering what you've said, what kind of terrain editors could make tunnels and caves? I've ran across Voxel terrain editors that seem to have this ability, but all the links were old and I found no completed program. There was another term I ran across here once when I searched this forum, but it escapes me for the moment. Give me some idea of what I should be looking for at least, please?
