Two Anime fandubs
Firstly, I am requesting ON LY voice actors. That's all. I'll need a cast fro fandubs. Please join the cast of either project.
The first project is The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Melancholy_of_Haruhi_Suzumiya_(anime)
Find out about it here.
The cast of course are the main characters.
I am currently the ONLY actor, but a friend of mine is helping me make it.
Cast: (To those with actors listed as nobody, please audition for them):
Kyon: (male) Nobody.
Haruhi: (female)Nobody.
Yuki: (female) Nobody.
Mikuru: (Female.) Nobody.
Itsuki: (male) Myself.
Additional voices 1 (male): Nobody.
Additional voices 2: (female): Nobody.
Additional voices 3: (male): Nobody.
Additional voices 4: (female): Nobody.
Please contact, by email, possibly through MSN as well if you have it. shadevortex@gmail.com is my email.
The second project is Goshuusho-sama Ninomiya-kun.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goshuusho-sama_Ninomiya-kun
Find out about it here.
The same things apply.
Cast:
Shungo Ninomiya: (male) Nobody.
Mayu Tsukimura: (female) Nobody.
Reika Hōjō: (female) Nobody.
Ryōko Ninomiya: (female) Nobody.
Mikihiro Tsukimura: (male) Myself.
Mitsuru Hosaka: (male) Nobody.
Shinobu Kirishima: (female) Nobody.
Additional voices 1 (male): Nobody.
Additional voices 2: (female): Nobody
Now, is anyone interested in joining the cast? Remember, this is for entertainment purposes only, so it's nonprofit. Also, course the script CANNOT be improvised by the cast. If you have a problem with a line, you will negotiate it with me before changing it.
I hope I supplied enough information. And no, I CANNOT supply any samples aside from my OWN audition.
And for your auditions, just make up random lines for the character(s) you try out. Try to be humorous if possible.
In case you want to hear it, here's the audition for Itsuki and Mikihiro:
http://www.esnips.com/doc/4c0295be-82ab-4a55-bd7a-34e9e4c4972e/itsukiandmikihiroaudition
As you can tell, I'm not aiming for professional actors. But decent ones are preferred.
Remember, send any auditions by email, or by a reply to this topic, or even through MSN.

This forum is for video game audio, not animation. Also, you need to have the written consent of the company that owns the rights to these shows. Wikipedia cites:
You need to contact Kadokawa Pictures USA to see if you can even go through with this fan-dub.
Wikipedia also stated this about Goshūshō-sama Ninomiya-kun:
You need to contact AIC Spirits to make sure you can go through with this fan-dub as well. It doesn't matter if you're doing this for free or not. These companies can (and most likely will) shut you down when they learn of your projects. I know, I've seen it happen. I used to work for FUNimation.
Please reconsider and only post game related posts in the future.
Thanks,
Nathan

Okay, sorry, thanks though. Also there are plenty of fandubs on licensed anime, nobody has ever gotten sued and I doubt everyone gets permission.

That could be true, but that doesn't make it less illegal. For example not every burgler gets arrested, but does that justify robbery?
I am not trying to be harsh though :) and hopefully you get a permission. A friend of mine worked on a project some while ago and they were "cought" and after some talking they got permission so no men overboard hopefully :D
Good luck!

So, you've interviewed every single person involved with fandubs and none of them were served a C&S? You also verified with every company holding the rights that they were okay with this and all of them were? I seriously doubt that. I'm also not trying to be harsh, but I feel like you're generalizing here and just hoping that nothing bad will happen. Exactly what Jaap said! Plus:

Funimation has sent a cease and desist letters regarding fansubs of number of titles that had not previously been associated with Funimation. These titles are XXXHOLiC TV, Ragnarok The Animation, Mushi-Shi, Suzuka, Sakura Taisen: Le Nouveau Paris and Atashi'n chi (Not clear if the C&D refers to the Movie, TV series, or both).
At this time we have not been able to receive an official comment from Funimation regarding these titles. In the past, when Funimation has sent out C&D letters, they have informed us that the letters did not necessarily mean that Funimation had acquired rights to the properties in question.
It happens with other shows all of the time:

Sad news to inform all off our watchers for Death Note.
We have just received a C&D(Cease and Desist) from VIZ Media stating for us to stop all distribution of Death Note by 22nd June 2007.
(This letter has also been served to Animanda, c1anime? & Several Death Note fan sites.)
Naturally, we will comply with Vizs request and cease all distribution/subbing activities of Death Note.
Originally, we started subbing Death Note because we enjoyed it and wanted provide the anime community with fast, reliable subs. But Death Note is licensed, and Viz has requested that we cease our subbing and distribution of Death Note. Its been a pleasure subbing Death Note for you all, and we hope youll stick around as we embark on other projects.
Thanks for watching!
So damn, I was kinda hoping they would sneak in the last two episodes, but it seems like this won't be the case. And if no one else picks up the last two episodes then I'm afraid I'll really be screwed. Stupid licensing companies!

Ah, okay. Sorry, didn't really know. I was kinda generalizing.
I've emailed both companies for permission. I hope I get it.
But really, it's not really against the rules to request help for non-games, is it? If it is, where would you suggest I get help if I DO get permission?

I'm not sure if it is against the rules for you to post here, but it does seem odd. I mean, this site is completely dedicated to game development. I wouldn't post a sports question on a movie forum like IMDB. The forum members would probably say, wrong forum and not answer my question. I'd try some anime forums because you'll probably have more luck finding like minded folks that would be eager to help out. Be sure to point out you're in the process of checking on permission to do a fan-dub.
Thanks,
Nathan
