Visual C++ compiler + gaming software

What it means is that the output will be slow. But as far as I''ve seen, while it may be slower, it isn''t noticeable. Like compiling all the Nehe tuts (with Std version), and then comparing them with the original (Pro version), there isn''t any difference in speed, except for maybe 4 KB difference in the filesize.

This happens with all other programs that I''ve compiled as well. The Allegro Demo runs just 2 fps slower on the Std version, compared to the Pro version. Now this 2 fps difference is when you''ve got more than 90 fps, so it isn''t a big deal, and in my opinion, not worth the extra $400 or so you''ll be shelling out.

If your in college you can basicaly get VC++ for free. Just join a programming club. Microsoft loves to give away free stuff to clubs. I guess it''s their way of getting all the youngins to be hooked on their products.
