Microsoft Copyright Isues
Is using microsoft fonts in games legal? If you don't provide the actual font file but get it from the users system. Also when using Paint you are given an option to type text. If I type in a message, using a Microsoft font and save it as an image will that be copyright as I am using their files in my game which I might sell.
Thanks.
If your game loads and uses font files located on the end users system you're safe (However you can't always assume that they have the font you want to use so you might need to provide some fallback fonts), as for the bitmaps i really don't know.

But don't you get full privileges over the font files as you have purchased them with windows.
Personally, I'd just use one of the many royalty-free fonts available on the Web, rather than get involved in a potentially hairy legal mess.

But most free fonts also have a license on them that you cannot sell them.

Are you sure?

The Bitstream Vera fonts are available for free copying and redistribution. They can be modified as long as the font name is changed. The fonts cannot be packaged by themselves for sale, but can be sold with any software.
