LW3D
Where is the Lightwave3D from all the art users? I use it as my favourite and only application to create and animate sample models to test in my 3d demos.
However I see alot and too many ppl prefering Max and Maya, though they r much expensive and less UI inituitive. LW is just like a sculpting tool in the hands of an artist.
What do Max and Maya have to offer more than LW that make them the choice of many game devleopers?
Thanks.
I have used Light wave 7 and frankly the interface is horrible in my opinion, there is nothing wrong with the power of Light Wave 3D it can make very nice models, however people will use what they want to just because it works for them personally as in they enjoy using it or just got use to using Max over the years and stuck to it.
If you want to compare 3D Studio Max / Maya / Light Wave 3D you could have a vs's thread going for years, it's all about personal preference. If you're good at making models you can use any of those three and make good models. I suggest you use what you want to and not what everyone else is using.
You don’t want to be one of those people who change their software every year because the biggest game studios are using something “better”.
