The "Ultimate" Iso Engine
I think I have found the ultimate 3d isometric engine. It is used in the up-coming game NeverWinter Nights. It looks totaly awsome but I am slightly mystified by how it is done does anyone know? I am guessing from the shots that It has tiles of different sizes but It is so good looking you can hardly tell that it is tiles. Anyways I have started programing an engine similar to this one so any info on how they do this would be appreciated.

It''s not tiled. It''s full 3D with an iso like view.

Look at the shot of the Map editor or look at the video of them using it. It is tile based otherwise it wouldnt be able to be edited like they say it will be. I just would like to know how its done.
The editor probably functions like a tile-map, but is probably rendered in 3D...
Yes, it is full or mostly 3D.

I Believe, from what I''ve read, the designers consider their level designer to be more innovative than typical 3-D games, by allowing the levels to edited as easily as a tile based game, even though it is with fully 3-D objects. I''m sure the game engine is completely 3-D from the numerous videos I''ve seen of it in action.
