I've never ever spent time on my models, I notice when im looking at other peoples work they state how long it took them to do, and it is usually conciderably longer than I would take. well, i generally rush myself as much as i can when modeling and texturing. the main reason i do this is to tarin myself for speed. so, while at first my models will look like crap, over time i'll get better while keeping the same pace. but this may not be for everyone and if you feel that you aren't getting better while rushing yourself, try taking your time and seeing what you come up with.
as for your webcam... i don't know what may be wrong with it unless you give me an image of what you were trying to model.

No that's what I modeled, The smoothing on it when it has a texture on it is terrible lol. Thanks for the advice!
