This is more of a technical problem than a programming related one, but it''s really important. i recently downloaded DX 8, and now whenever i try to run a program that used A3D for 3D sound, it crashes with an error in the VXD. I think thats the virtual driver or whatever. I downloaded the newest version of A3D (3.12) and it still won''t work. Should i uninstall DX 8 and go back to 7, or try to fix the problem? Are there any other 3D sound APIs so to speak like A3D (I''ve heard of EAX) that I could use? Or whats the problem?

I think it might have something to do with my nVidia card, but I don''t know for sure. Any ideas?
