i'd love to join this workshop - is there any formal signup stuff or do we just start reading the book each week?

Nope, just start reading along and ask any questions you want to!

@londonman: Perhaps you should just google it, or go to the Microsoft developer site?
We should do this the Microsoft way: "WAHOOOO!!! IT COMPILES! SHIP IT!"
I'm interested. I'll see if I can convince my parents to make this book my graduation present. Hopefully, they'll be able to get a copy from a store, so I will have a chance to glace through it before the official start date.
I wish I knew what I was doing.
I'd like to join as a student

no offense here oilers - but you must be broke for you not to have enough money to buy this book - i got it on amazon for like $3 including shipping - and if you go to a used bookstore there is a very good chance they have it.

anyway, i'm joinin in - i've always wanted to learn c++ :) :)

So I only have to buy the textbook and attend the workshop?

I was already learning C++ using this Book "C++ Software Development For Technology Student by David Conger".

Other than that I have a java course this term at college.

I can still manage to get my hands on the textbook recommended, infact I'm on my way to the bookstore right now. Though I might not get the latest version, I'm sure to get the 4th Edi., at least.

Lastly, I'd like to say you guys are doing a great job with this workshop.

I hope its a success!!!
