Libraries, APIs, Frameworks

I recently decided that I would do a little research into all the libraries that are now available for the game programmer, with the intention being to try out as many of them as possible so that I can compare and contrast them. Of course, 'library' is a fairly vague term... some libraries are fully featured enough to be considered software development kits, whereas others are little more than a framework to get quickly started on a certain type of application. I would be interested if anyone could give me any links or details for any library, sdk, framework, api, etc etc, that are either for game programming, or relate directly to concepts useful for game programming (eg. an image loading library, for instance). DirectX and OpenGL not included. Even if you don't think it would qualify, tell me anyway, and I will take a look at it and decide for myself. I already have the following: CDX, Allegro, Clanlib, FMOD, Grand Unified Toolkit (GUT), LibCON, Midas, MikMod Sound System, MythOS, OpenAL, OpenGUI, OpenIL, OpenPTC, Simple DirectMedia Layer (SDL), TDX, TileLib, XAudio, and Zipios++. Any others (including your own, of course) gratefully received. Edited by - Kylotan on January 19, 2001 10:00:58 PM
