BRING BACK THE BLACK (or at least something darker)
Doesn't sound like a battle theme. Maybe for some scary or dangerous sad scenes yes, but defintely not a battle. Btw, the crashses are kinda piercing.

Overall, not bad as an ambience piece for a game :)..

The tune works, but the string'd instruments are really bugging me. The reason I say that is because it sounds like it shouldn't be synthetic, but it does. Also the cymbals are a little too loud. They're not additive, they're intrusive. Soften them or tone them down a little. Its good...what is it for?
strikes me as music for a harrowing scene cutscene showing battle scenes followed by weeping widows or something. Def emotive, interesting composition.

I should have mentioned, the title 'Battle_02' is referencing the compilation of songs for my game (named Battle: The Fight for Eternity), I was unsure where this song would fit in, but I was thinking about a cutscene after as one of the big battles end. Thanks for all the comments!

So I'll turn down the cymbal crashes, and nes8bit: I'm unsure what you mean about the synthetic strings...

Sounds good

I like, albeit as others have said, the cymbals. Perhaps quite them down but have an erie(sp?) echo to them a bit.

And the violin (I believe it is) I like.
that was deffinetly good, it sounds like final boss music. Yes the cymbals in the middle were kind of piercing but the rest of it is perfect.

what software did you use to make it?
Reason 3.0 and Finale 2005.

Hi - I think nes8bit meant that such an emotional piece should have a better string sound, as this detracts from the overall atmosphere. The best way to do this is 'borrow' a sample cd (or tweak the strings.rfl if you have it) that has real strings. Chop them up using sound forge \ logic etc. or if they're multisamples notes, use the nnxt to make a patch of real strings. Use a tiny reverb that's only audible when you solo the srings - this should help.

About the cymbals - if you mix down on a powerful speaker system, the mid to high range may be getting covered up by your woofer \ sub. Play each finished track on a pair of small pc speakers, a cd system etc. to make sure nothing is too loud on every system.

Hope that helps.
